Welcome to Lochussie Cabins
An Idyllic Getaway to the Highlands of Scotland
About Us
We are a new small family run business in the beautiful Highland countryside just half a mile off the NC 500. We have spent many years thinking that we were lucky to live in such a beautiful place and now feel it’s time to share this lovely place with the rest of the world.
Located just outside the town of Dingwall we are within a day trip distance of many great locations such as the scenic Black Isle. Loch Ness is within easy reach for day trips and the West Coast and all its majestic sights are at your disposal.
Travel North to vast open empty beaches and clan stories that laid the foundation of Scotland’s history.
There are lots of distilleries in easy reach from this location with their visitor centres waiting for you to sample their delights. Take a train trip from Dingwall on the Kyle line for a day trip on one of the world’s most scenic railway lines.
Or just relax at the cabins and watch the red kites soar above you as they often do!
We would like to think that this part of Ross-shire is just a little bit undiscovered for a lot of people so why not start your journey here.
Come and stay and see what you think. Our location is shown below but if you have any queries fill in the form adjacent. To book, click the button at the top or below.

Wonderful idyllic little cabins in beautiful quiet surroundings We spent a lovely weekend in the Highlands celebrating our wedding anniversary (and also working a little bit) and were recommended these cabins by a friend. Absolutely gorgeous little cabins, spotlessly clean, very modern and cozy. The views are breathtaking, especially watching the sun rise over the hills from our bed! It’s so quiet and peaceful. The owners are lovely and helpful. We really enjoyed the log burner in the evenings. The cabin has wifi and a smart TV, tons of natural light and also lots of individually controllable little lamps, and great efficient central heating. The decor is calming, elegant and welcoming, we loved the wallpaper behind the bed which is a very detailed map of the area! The wetroom is lovely, has everything you need including an awesome shower and some storage for toiletries, towels and a bath mat are provided, loved the Sea Kelp soaps! Nice touch to have a full stove and oven in such a compact space, you can actually cook a full meal should you wish. (We are more the microwave meal people when on holiday, so that was one thing we missed a little, but made do with oven pizzas. Speaking of which, adding a pizza cutter (and a cafetière) to the kitchen utensils would be a good idea!)
The double bed is soft and very comfortable, I will admit that the sofa bed isn’t the best we had, it’s rather narrow when opened (as it’s clearly stated when booking so it did not come as a surprise) and it’s not that comfortable (our kids are 12 & 8 and they fit ok, but I really wouldn’t recommend it for more than one adult or older child). But that’s really the only thing I can mention that was less than perfect.
I would definitely recommend these cabins for a special stay in the area, especially for couples and families with small kids or one child.
Peaceful and calm cabin Sandy was welcoming and friendly. The cabin was immaculate and very cosy. The cabins have been finished to a high spec. All necessary amenities were provided. The area was very peaceful and calm. The little balcony at the front of the cabin was the perfect place to chill in the evening. Just a shame we couldn’t stay for more than one night - I’d love to have stayed for a few days. Would love to return!
10/10 would definitely be back. The cabin interior was really well done and had lots of space for us and the dog. The bathroom was excellent. Felt like a home away from home. Would 100% recommend to anyone.
Luxury peace and quiet We found this little sanctuary while trying to get a hotel room for one night near our trip to Ullapool, this was perfect as it’s heading back down towards Aviemore. A great stop off in between the two. Quiet self contained cabins with everything we could need. They felt quite luxurious. Very well finished. WiFi was spot on. Shower was tremendous with ample hot water.
Sofa bed was perfect for 1 adult and child or two kids.
All the little extras were there, washing up liquid, paper towels, tea and coffee.
Sandy could not have been more helpful. Popped up as soon as we arrived, provided all the info we needed. I had emailed back and forth after booking through the website and he replied straight back.
Had food delivered to the cabin from a local takeaway.
Fabulous breakout/bbq area. Our wee one was happy playing football on the grass for a while when we arrived.
We would highly recommend and will absolutely return.
Spotless cabin in stunning surrounding Stunning cabins, well equipped with everything you need for a tranquil getaway. WiFi worked great, TV connectivity was straightforward. Spotless inside and an incredible shower! We had a great stay!
10/10!!!!! We were here for 5 days. Sandy is a great host and couldn’t have been more helpful in the time we were staying, always checking in and ensuring we had everything we needed. We stayed here to complete part of the NC500 as it is right at the beginning of the route and was a great base. Supermarket nearby.
The bed was super comfy and the shower was amazing. Would absolutely be back and only wish we were staying longer.
There was communal BBQ facilities and lots of fun outdoor games, would be a great place to take kids and stay.
Excellent Cabin This is a great cabin. It has everything you need in a brilliant location, on the NC500 route and handy for Dingwall. Would highly recommend.
Cosy for family or couples, enjoy peace It’s a must stay, break away from busy city, it’s cosy and had a wonderful stay, host is great. Take more then one day you won’t regret it
Fantastic stay, luxury cabin and perfect base to explore! Fantastic stay! Stayed for 4 nights with my husband and baby and we couldn’t fault anything. The cabins are really well equipped and comfortable (excellent shower!). The outside terrace has stunning views.
We used the cabin as a base to explore further afield on some parts of the Nc500 - couldn’t ask for a better location to explore!
Sandy is a brilliant and friendly host. Thank you!
Fantastic Stay! Stayed early June, enjoyed two night stay - travelling with family and we had two cabins for the stay. Fantastic cabins, well appointed, comfy and clean, with great additional facilities. Fantastic hosts who couldn't do enough for you. Ideal location, enjoyed our stay. Will return.
